EEDA are the Regional Development Agency for the East of England, (covering Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire) whose remit is to transform the region through sustainable economic development. EEDA takes the lead on the region’s economic strategy and provides and funds a number of services for business.
Suffolk Development Agency is a sub-regional economic partnership part funded by EEDA. SDA leads on developing a Suffolk wide economic strategy, and provides key services on behalf of its local authority partners including inward investment and commercial property database maintenance, research and data services and tourism & promotion.
The Haven Gateway Partnership is also a sub-regional economic partnership part funded by EEDA that covers the ports of Felixstowe, Harwich, Ipswich and Mistley and the surrounding area (including Eastern Babergh) – one of the UK’s largest and most important gateways. HGP provides a framework within which its partner organisations, from the private and public sectors, can work together to promote economic opportunities and secure the future prosperity of the region. The HGP specifically delivers maritime and logistics skills support and works with Cruise businesses at Harwich.
EEI is the inward investment agency for the East of England. Their remit is to support companies considering investment in the East of England, and to work with existing investors to ensure they grow profitably in the region. EE1 work closely in partnership with EEDA, SDA and Babergh on inward investment issues to ensure a consistent approach.
