Community Achievement Awards 2006

Summary

Community Achievement Award Winner 2006 - Faith Marsden and her contribution to the community.

Faith Marsden

Faith is a very kind and caring person who is much loved by all who know her. Although Faith has a full time career as a teacher she voluntarily runs two weekly after school clubs for children and teenagers, “Junior Stars” and “Rock Solid”. “Rock Solid” started with around 12 young people and the number has now doubled. Both clubs are extremely popular and teach Christian principles and values. Faith puts a lot of time and energy into “Rock Solid” and has a great love for the young people who attend. Faith is also Secretary of Branchlines, a project to plant and grow a wood in Great Waldingfield and for the past 12 years Faith has helped at the Christian Conference Centre at Sizewell Hall cooking and catering for up to 80 people. Through her involvement up to 70 village residents enjoy a holiday there each year and Faith also plays the organ every Sunday and for choir practice.  Faith never says "No" and is always willing to try out new ideas.
