Community Achievement Awards 2006

Summary

Community Achievement Award Winner 2006 - Hilary Furlong and her contribution to the community.

Hilary Furlong

Hilary has lived in the village of Elmsett for 20 years and during that time has involved herself in many aspects of village life. Her community work involves being pivotal in the production of a "village book"; volunteer for the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and treewarden; establishment of a wildflower regime in the churchyard; production of a village footpath map; production of a music handbook and short guidebook to choral singing; helping with riding for the disabled and being a "good neighbour" to older members of the community.  Her proposers comment that Hilary's contribution to the village really does make a difference.
