Community Acheivement Award Winner 2006 - Kate Todd and Jennifer Shepherd and their contribution to the community.

Kate Todd and Jennifer Shepherd

Kate and Jennifer are both 17 and the student organisers of the RHS community action projects. They are the very effective executive committee of the RHS community action team that provided activities in which over 300 pupils participated during the year. Their projects include charity fundraising where £20,000 has been raised for the tsunami fund; support for people with disabilities by arranging a training course in Disability Awareness and the staging of a minilympics day for people with disabilities; the continuation of the RHS Recycling Scheme. The leadership qualities of Kate and Jennifer has enabled the Community Action Team to greatly benefit many people locally, regionally and around the world.
