Community Achievement Awards 2006

Summary

Community Achievement Award Winner 2006 - Stuart Miller and his contribution to the communtiy.

Stuart Miller

Stuart moved to Polstead in 1987 and immediately became involved in the community, helping out wherever he could. Following the burglary of the local shop Stuart formed and chaired the “Friends of Polstead Shop” in order to raise funds to upgrade the protection of the Shop which was required for insurance purposes. Stuart started his fundraising by organising a Polstead Quiz for the Brain of Polstead Trophy and continued raising money until the shop was fully operational.  As a Parish Councillor Stuart became involved with helping the children and teenagers in the village and recently undertook to head the refurbishment of the village playground. Stuart is always there to help at all Village Hall events and his proposers say he is a very valuable asset to their community.
