Community Achievement Award Winner 2006 - Allan MacDiarmid and Rebecca Chalmers and their contribution to the community.

Allan Macdiarmid & Rebecca Chalmers

Allan has been working for the Conservation Project for several years, as part of a team supporting adults with learning disabilities, developing and maintaining the willow plantation and grassland at Belchamp Brook. Allan's passion for conservation is apparent by his energy and enthusiasm to share his knowledge with everyone. He also has a natural ability to communicate with the students at their level of understanding and has endless patience.

Rebecca is 24 and enrolled as a volunteer at the Bridge Project identifying this as an ideal way to give something back to the community. Her skills are utilised in Basic Skills and Catering sessions and she is also actively involved in the Summer Pantomime taking responsibility for most of the costumes. Rebecca offers brilliant support as she has patience and can identify and meet individual needs.
