Colin Hurcombe

Colin is nominated in recognition of his service to the residents of Capel St Mary over a period of many years.  Colin was a Parish Councillor for 8 years and during that time was responsible for heading a successful campaign to have the dangerous Capel/Bentley road crossing replaced.  He also founded the first sports club in the village in 1977 serving as its chairman and in the mid-eighties Colin joined the management team of the Capel Community Council which was responsible for the maintenance of the village hall, the large recreation field and youth club building. Colin's wife Rita received the award on his behalf.
