COMMUNITY ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS 2007

Summary

Community Achievement Award Winner 2007 - Dorothy Chapman and her contribution to the community.

Dorothy Chapman

Dorothy has run the Village Shop and served as postmistress for the past 40 years. Although the Post Office is open nearly every day Dorothy has continued to serve the community in so many other ways - her nomination was accompanied by many letters of support for her deeds in the village of Burstall. It is rare for anyone to remember a day the Post Office has been closed - Dorothy is always there for people, they can call in for a chat, buy goods and if there is anything you need and Dorothy hasn't got it - she will stock it!
