Summary

Details of the awards presented to Jasmine Alexander and Phoebe Turner

Jasmine Alexander and Phoebe Turner receiving their awards

Jasmine & Phoebe are aged 9 and 10 respectively and our youngest ever winners! Together they decided to spend their summer holiday break doing something to help raise the spirits of soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. They held a garage sale and raised money by selling their own toys and games. The money was used to buy toiletries and sweets for packing in shoeboxes to post to Afghanistan and in total they packed and sent 20 shoeboxes each including a personal message of support. Since then they have packed and wrapped many more parcels; their project has now grown much bigger and is having a genuine impact on the men and women at the local Wattisham airbase.
