Details of award presented to Nicola Sawyer

Nicola is passionate about ensuring that children and young people in her community have the opportunity to experience positive and engaging activities. Acton youth club re-opened in October 2008 and although Nicola is employed to run the 2 hour club each week she does a huge amount of voluntary work outside of this time organising trips, events and activities and raising the aspirations of young people in the community. Nicola constantly consults with the young people to find out what activities are needed, thereby creating an environment they feel an integral part of.
