- In exceptional circumstances the Council will provide sandbags, generally free of charge, to private homeowners where they are identified as being vulnerable i.e. unable to help themselves or in cases of extreme hardship, and where their property is at imminent risk of flooding.
- If requested by the Emergency Services, the Council will endeavour to provide all necessary technical assistance, materials and equipment to private homeowners where their property is at imminent risk of flooding. The Council will seek to recover all costs incurred from the homeowner.

Post-Event Clear Up
- Occupiers of the Council’s premises, including council house tenants, will be assisted with the clean up of debris, foul sewage etc. from their properties in order to minimise the damage to the property. No assistance will be provided in connection with dealing with the contents of these properties.
