Summary

Diversity is about the things that make us individuals. Your race, sex, religion, ethnic background, age, ability, sexuality. We are inviting you to take part in our consultation of the scheme and to let us know what you think.

Babergh District Council has developed a draft Equality and Diversity Policy and Single Equality Scheme and Action Plan in line with the Government’s plans for a Single Equality Act bringing together the six equality strands (Age, Disability, Gender, Race, Religion or Belief and Sexual Orientation) under one piece of legislation.  

Babergh’s draft Equality and Diversity Policy and Single Equality Scheme and Action Plan bring together our existing Gender Equality Scheme, Disability Scheme and Race Equality Scheme and show our commitment to the other strands of equality recognised in UK legislation. 

We are inviting you to take part in our consultation of the scheme and to let us know what you think.  Any comments you have should be forwarded either:
