Jo Beever, Babergh’s Community Grants Officer, said: “Babergh had a lower number of entries than last year, however, the quality of those entries showed a very high level of enthusiasm and commitment in each of the villages."
Tattingstone emerged winners this year and go on the county round which takes place at the end of July, the three highest scoring villages then progress to the final round on 3rd September. Last year Clare won the overall competition and we wish Tattingstone good luck in this next round.
Babergh’s judging panel was made up of four district councillors who marked villages for community spirit, general appearance, how well their parish council is run and special achievements during the last two years.
