SUBSTITUTES AND APOLOGIES

Members to declare any interests as appropriate in respect of items to be considered at this meeting.

To confirm and sign the Minutes of the meeting held on 11 February 2009 as a correct record.

PETITIONS

The Director of Corporate Services to report, in accordance with Council Procedure Rule No. 13, the receipt of any petitions submitted to the Chief Executive.

QUESTIONS FROM MEMBERS

The Chairman to answer any questions on any matters in relation to which the Council has powers or duties which affect the District and which fall within the terms of reference of the Committee of which due notice has been given in accordance with Council Procedure Rule No. 15.4 – (a) and (b).

SITE INSPECTIONS

In addition to any site inspections which the Committee may consider to be necessary, the Chief Planning Control Officer recommends that site inspections take place in respect of the following applications:-

B/09/00001/FUL – Land West of 91-93 Oxford Drive, Hadleigh

Construction of new facilities for Hadleigh Bowling Club, together with ancillary facilities, (relocating from Magdalen Road, Hadleigh).

B/08/01942/FUL – Bowls Club, Magdalen Road, Hadleigh

Erection of two-storey residential care home with 51 bedrooms with ancillary facilities and associated parking, bin stores and cycle parking (demolition of existing clubhouse and removal of existing bowling green).

The site visits are recommended as these applications raise important policy issues and involve significant development within a Conservation Area and Special Landscape Area.

The provisional date for site inspections is Wednesday 18 March 2009.

Notes:

1.       A buffet lunch will be provided for Members in Committee Room 1.

2.       Where it is not expedient for plans and drawings of the proposals under consideration to be shown on the power point, these will be displayed in the Council Chamber prior to the meeting.
