PETITIONS

The Head of Legal and Administrative Services to report, in accordance with Council Procedure Rule No. 13, the receipt of any petitions submitted to the Chief Executive.

QUESTIONS FROM MEMBERS

The Chairman to answer any questions on any matters in relation to which the Council has powers or duties which affect the District and which fall within the terms of reference of the Committee of which due notice has been given in accordance with Council Procedure Rule No. 15.4 – (a) and (b).

WORK PLAN

The Committee’s Work Plan is attached as Paper E30, together with an Appendix 1 detailing items in the Strategy Committee’s Work Plan which are relevant to the Terms of Reference of the Overview and Scrutiny (Community Services) Committee, and including matters which could potentially be “called in” by this Committee.

At its meeting on 19th April 2005 the Council noted the Committee’s Annual Report and agreed that the Committee should be requested to consider including the following items in the Work Plan:-

i)                    Review of our approach on the Corporate priority of health improvement.

ii)                  Future use and occupation of East House

iii)                 Review the work and effectiveness of Babergh’s Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership.

In relation to item (ii) above, the future use and occupation of East House, a Planning Assessment Sheet is attached as Appendix 2 to Paper E30.

In relation to item (i) above, a Planning Assessment Sheet will be submitted to the next meeting of the Committee.

In relation to item (iii) above, a report on this and related issues will be submitted to the next meeting of the Committee, with possible proposals for amending the Work Plan.
