There are also 100% energy-saving grants from Warm Front available to homeowners and private tenants for insulation. Some households can even get free grants for heating. If you are in receipt of any income related or disability benefits you are likely to be eligible for a grant. For more information visit the Warm Front Scheme website, or telephone Warm Front on 0800 316 2805.

The Low Carbon Buildings Programme, part of the UK Environmental Transformation Fund (ETF) jointly funded by BERR/Defra and managed for BERR by the Energy Saving Trust, aims to give householders and communities a chance to realise the benefits of renewable energy by providing grants and access to sources of advice. Householders can obtain grants from £400 to £2,500. Grants are given for the following renewable energy installations: solar thermal, wind turbines, micro/small scale hydro turbines, ground source heat pumps, room heaters/stoves with automated wood pellet feed and wood fuelled boiler systems.

Also, Green Book Live is a free online database designed to help specifiers and end users identify products and services that can help to reduce their impact on the environment.
Green Book Live brings together listings from a number of organisations and delivers comprehensive information on 'green' products and services, some approved to stringent environmental requirements and others based on information provided by manufacturers and trade bodies.
