Supported Housing

Summary

information about Supported Housing, Sheltered Housing and help to live at home

We play a full role in making community care work by providing housing and support for people with disabilities, frailties or vulnerabilities. For more than 10 years, we have developed a creative, flexible response to the housing and support needs of disabled, frail and vulnerable people, and people with other difficulties, along with their families and carers.

Working with Social Care Services, Health, Housing Associations and voluntary (or ‘not-for-profit’) care & support organisations, our job is to identify the need for housing with support, and to develop a range of solutions according to identified need. The result is seventeen supported housing schemes in the District, nineteen sheltered schemes for older people. We have also developed a range of ‘floating support’ services, which visit people in their own homes.

Who do we help?

Housing and/or support is available for these specific groups of people, subject to need and availability:

  • Older People with physical or mental frailties
  • Young People leaving care
  • Young parents & babies
  • Vulnerable and marginalised people
  • People with mental health needs
  • People with learning disabilities
  • People with physical and/or sensory disabilities
  • People with substance misuse problems
