 The Wider Picture Project is a festival of international cinema taking place at Digital Cinema screening venues around the Babergh area.
The next festival is planned for Autumn 2009.
In the Spring of 2008 residents and visitors of Babergh enjoyed some of the best films from around the world.
The aim of The Wider Picture Project is to increase the range of films available for the local communities, promote understanding of other cultures and lifestyles and to develop audiences for foreign language films in the venue's catchment area
Venues who took part in the festival included:
- Flix in the Stix, Lavenham
- Polstead Village Hall, Polstead
- Hartest Cinema, Hartest
- Hollywood at Hadleigh, Hadleigh
- The Quay Theatre, Sudbury
- Screen at Sproughton, Sproughton
- Peninsular Pix, Tattingstone
- Glemsford Screen, Glemsford
All of the venues are part of Suffolk Digital Cinema Network www.suffolkcinema.org a countywide organisation set up to assist groups to organise film shows in towns and villages in Suffolk without cinemas.
