The Be Active Leisure Inclusion Service is working towards a safer, healthier and more active community by improving leisure participation opportunities in Babergh.

The Be Active Leisure Inclusion Service is working towards a safer, healthier and more active community by improving leisure participation opportunities in Babergh. The project aims to support vulnerable social groups, in particular young people at risk of offending and people of all ages with disabilities.
Be Active disability - We work with Optua Leisure and the Suffolk Disability Sports Academy to increase participation and activity by disabled people in Babergh - we also work with local partners such as special schools and existing clubs to identify and develop talent in disabled athletes.
 Be Active referral project - We liase with the Youth Offending Service, the local police, PCSO's, schools within Babergh and Baberghs Community Safety Partnership. We involve youngsters in diversionary activities, help them to feel part of their community and offer them a positive alternative through sports and leisure.
Want to get involved with the referral project? We will support you to become a coach or volunteer, we can also help you get involved in one of our many sports clubs just email us at be.active@babergh.gov.uk

Coming soon - Arts and Culture opportunties for youngsters who are part of the referral project, get involved in a local theatre production, acting, dancing or singing class.
