These sessions offer young people living in and around Sudbury the chance to take part in some organised football. All sessions are informal and there is no need to book. The ethos of th project is to encourage young people to take part and feel they belong to something. There is potential to join football clubs that are linked to the project, including Sudbury, Glemsford and Cavendish, with partnership funding from Babergh's Community Safety Partnership. There is also the opportunity for young people to train as football coaches.

Long Jump Coaching
Coaches from all network clubs are invited to attend the first Long Jump coach development session led by Eddie Hawkins, who is currently part of the National Coach Development Programme. Details are as follows:
Venue: Braintree Athletics Track, Braintree Leisure Centre, Panfield Lane, Braintree, CM7 1FF.
Date: Saturday 20th February 2010
Time: Please arrive at 9.15am for a 9.30am start. The session will finish at approx. 11.00am
Coaches are invited to come and observe the session which will focus on event drills and plyometric training for jumpers (involving athletes of county standard from U13 to senior age groups). It should be emphasised that the purpose of these sessions is for both networking and coach development however, if you would like to select an athlete of county standard to also observe or take part in the session please let me know as soon as you can (places for athletes taking part in the session will be restricted).
The network aims to host a series of sessions led by coaches at each of the network clubs to share ideas and best practices across the network. It would be much appreciated, if you could circulate this e-mail to any other long jump coaches within your club at the earliest opportunity.
