Babergh District Council’s Be Active project, aimed at widening and improving leisure participation opportunities for people of all ages with disabilities, has teamed up with Ipswich Town Football Club (ITFC) to offer a FREE tour and coaching session at the club’s Portman Road stadium. This fantastic offer is open to anybody with a disability within the community, regardless of previous footballing experience. The tour and coaching session will take place on Monday 21st February between 5 - 7pm.
Babergh District Council’s Leisure Inclusion Officer Greg Cooper is thrilled that ITFC are supporting the project and is keen to emphasise that the evening will be more than just a one-off experience.
‘This is a fantastic example of how working together can help offer new opportunities for residents. The Be Active project has been very successful in promoting activities for people with disabilities and we are delighted that Ipswich Town Disability FC (ITDFC) will lead a coaching session following the stadium tour. Local football club Cornard Dynamos have also welcomed those who enjoy the experience to continue playing at weekly coaching sessions in Great Cornard. We may even unearth some new talent to play for the ITDFC team in the London & South East - Ability Counts League!’
In order to attend this FREE disability football taster session contact Babergh’s Be Active Leisure Inclusion Officer Greg Cooper on 01473 826656 or email leisure@babergh.gov.uk to book your place.
