Babergh residents wanting to comment on changes to the Local Plan following the publication of the Inspector`s Report have until 1st March to do so.

Babergh residents wanting to comment on changes to the Local Plan following the publication of the Inspector`s Report have until 1st March to do so.

As in earlier stages of the Local Plan, a wide range of organisations and interested bodies will be consulted on the proposed changes. Representations at this stage can only be made to the proposed modifications, or to recommendations that the Inspector has made but the Council does not accept

Babergh has set up a number of meetings, with particular reference to those parishes where a significant change has been made. These are:

  • Tuesday 10 Jan Great Cornard Parish Council
  • Tuesday 17 Jan Wherstead Parish Council: 19.30, 'The Room', Wherstead
  • Wednesday 18 Jan Great Cornard Public Meeting: 19.00, Stevenson Centre, Great Cornard
  • Thursday 2 Feb Babergh East Local Strategic Partnership meeting: 14.00, Hadleigh Business Centre
  • Tuesday 7 Feb Glemsford Parish Council: 19.45, Village Hall, Glemsford
  • Wednesday 8 Feb Babergh East Parishes: 19.00 Holiday Inn (on A1214, nr Copdock Interchange), Copdock
  • Thursday 9 Feb Babergh West Parishes: 19.00 Stoke by Nayland Club
  • Tuesday 14 Feb Sudbury Town Council: 19.00 Town Hall, Sudbury
  • Friday 17 February West Suffolk Local Strategic Partnership meeting (Management / Steering Group): 10.00 Forest Heath District Council

Rich Cooke, Acting Head of Planning Policy and Economic Development said “ All representations made on the proposed changes will be considered at the end of the consultation period, at which time Babergh will carefully consider its responses. Councillors will be voting on the final recommendations in the summer of 2006, at which point it is expected that the Local Plan will be formally adopted”.
