Summary

Members of the public are being urged to take part in a special evening dedicated to promoting renewable energy sources to Babergh residents.

Members of the public are being urged to take part in a special evening dedicated to promoting renewable energy sources to Babergh residents.

The event is being organised as part of a joint initiative between Suffolk Energy Action Link (SEAL), involving borough and district councils across Suffolk, and the Energy Saving Trust

Audience members will be able to find out how wind power, solar power, ground source heat pumps and wood fuel can be used in the home and the advantages of this.

Details of grants and courses on offer to residents will also be available. The focus will be on solar water heating with information about DIY systems, grants and council-supported schemes.

John Kilgannon, Babergh’s Environmental Protection Manager and representative on SEAL, will be speaking at the event.

He said: “The evening is an excellent way we can get the message of renewable energy across to Babergh residents.

“It will provide lots of information about systems that can be used in the home, show how they can be implemented and advise of any financial help that might be on offer.”

The event is being held at Lavenham Village Hall, Church Street, Lavenham, on July 19 from 7pm until 9pm.

To register your interest in attending, please call the Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre Anglia on 0800 512 012. ENDS
