HADLEIGH: TESCO APPLICATION RECEIVED

Summary

Babergh District Council has today (February 18th) received a planning application from Tesco for a new food store in Hadleigh.

Babergh District Council has today (February 18th) received a planning application from Tesco for a new food store in Hadleigh.

According to the application, the store would measure some 3,055 sq metres (33,000sq feet) and is to be accessed from Bridge Street.  Pedestrian and cycle links from the High Street are also proposed.

Having received the application, Babergh’s planning officers are now checking through the plans and supporting documents to ensure that everything necessary has been submitted by the company.

Once that has been done, the application will be registered and made available for the public to view it at Babergh’s Hadleigh offices or on the Council’s website.

Babergh will then begin its consultation with statutory bodies and local residents.

According to Nick Ward, Babergh’s Chief Planning Control Officer, “it is likely that the Tesco application will be considered by the Development Committee in the spring”.

The application is now available for the public to view it at Babergh’s Hadleigh offices or on the tesco planning application web pages on the Council’s website.
