Babergh District Council has moved to clarify the deadline by which comments on the proposals by Tesco for a superstore in Hadleigh need to be submitted.
According to Babergh’s Chief Planning Control Officer, Nick Ward “although we would urge residents and groups to get us their submissions by 25th March or even earlier – in order to allow us to raise any points with Tesco – comments received after the deadline will still be considered and taken into account.”
Babergh has issued this clarification as the Council has become aware that at least one organisation in the town is suggesting that the 25th March is a definite deadline after which no further submissions can be made.
According to Nick Ward, Babergh’s Chief Planning Control Officer, “in spite of the fact that 25th March is not a definite deadline, we only have a finite time (13 weeks in this case) to determine the Tesco application which expires on 20 May 2008. We would, therefore, ask that residents and organisations make every effort to get their observations to us at the earliest opportunity”.
The application is available for the public to view it at Babergh’s Hadleigh offices or on the tesco planning application web pages on the Council’s website.
