That’s the message coming from Babergh who working with the County Council’s extended schools partnership, is bringing a variety of workshops – from ballroom dancing to learning how to DJ – to the district as part of its programme of activities in the Easter half-term. Hadleigh Leisure Centre is hosting the events and is fully supporting this initiative.
As well as all traditional sporting activities like athletics, Samba Soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, multisports and judo, the more unusual will also be on offer.
Highlights include professional golf lessons, street dance sessions, ballroom dancing lessons, DJ workshops and lots, lots more.
The activities run from Tuesday, March 25th until Friday, April 4th and all are being held at Hadleigh Leisure Centre. The sessions are aimed at children from 8 to 16 years old.
Paul Little, Babergh District Council’s Community Safety and Leisure Manager, said:” This year’s Easter Holiday activities really do have something for everyone. This is an example of how all agencies working together can get the best out of limited resources and builds on the launch, in November, of Active South Suffolk, a partnership organised and supported by Babergh District Council.
“From self-defence to ballroom dancing and DJ workshops to trampolining – the activities are all free and will ensure children of all ages are kept active and entertained, as well as being lots of fun.”
All sessions, which are sponsored by Babergh District Council, Suffolk County Council and Hadleigh Lesiure Centre, are free but places will need to be booked in advance by calling the Centre on (01473) 824441.
For more information on which sessions are taking place and when, please contact the Hadleigh Leisure Centre - www.hadleighhighleisurecentre.co.uk. Brochures are available from the council’s offices and have been distributed to the schools in Hadleigh and the surrounding area.
