A creative training day aimed at helping people who work with musicians or musical projects is being held in Babergh.
Tune Up, which has been funded by Babergh District Council, Orchestra’s live and Suffolk County Council, will see composer and music leader Fraser Trainer and musicians from City of London Sinfonia (CLS) deliver the music education and community training event.
The project aims to refresh or develop participant’s techniques in delivering and developing music projects and workshops within classes, groups and the wider community.
It is aimed at community musicians, leaders and schoolteachers and all those who make music in their work with others and will highlight ways of creatively engaging people through music.
The event is being held at Hadleigh Community Primary School on May 9th from 10am until 4.30pm. The cost for the day, which has been co-produced with Orchestra’s Live with support from Suffolk County Council, is £20 per person and includes lunch.
Susie Tyrrell, Babergh’s Arts and Community Development Officer, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity for music teachers and musicians to learn from composer Fraser Trainer and orchestral musicians from CLS.
“The event will provide a fantastic environment to share different approaches to leading, planning workshops, warm ups and working with repertoire. All skills can be put into practice back in the classrooms and village halls creating a lasting impact from the day across the district.”
The closing date for registration for this event is April 17th and places are limited, so please book early. Priority will be given to those who live or work in the Babergh district.
