Babergh District Council, Colne Housing and Persimmon Homes are delighted to announce the completion of the first phase of affordable housing on the Stour Croft development in Great Cornard.
27 homes for rent have recently been completed and to celebrate this Cllr Jennie Jenkins, Chairman of Babergh District Council, unveiled a bench provided by Colne Housing, for the use of local residents.
Cllr Jennie Jenkins said: “This is a wonderful example of partnership working at its best and I am delighted to unveil this bench in recognition of this superb achievement.”
And Cllr Sue Wigglesworth, Chairman of Babergh’s Housing Panel, said: ‘Affordable housing is one of the Council’s highest priorities and we have been working hard to bring forward much-needed housing for local people in partnership with our housing association and developer partners.”
Chief Executive of Colne Housing, Mark Powell Davies, said: “This is one of the largest schemes Colne has been involved with and we are delighted to have worked in such close partnership with Babergh District Council.
“Providing excellent quality affordable homes is essential, and Stour Croft is a superb example of what can be achieved - we are very proud of this project.”
