HMS GANGES (June 18)

Summary

In response to comments made during this morning's Breakfast Programme on BBC Radio Suffolk, Babergh would like to repeat the points made to the station on the issue of the mast at the former HMS Ganges site in Shotley:

"Babergh has offered all the appropriate guidance and advice to the private developer which owns the mast and site at HMS Ganges. Our understanding is that the developer is in the process of obtaining quotes from several different repair companies. As with any tender process involving what will be quite a complex and highly specialist job, with few organisations around with the required skills and knowledge, this will take time".
