The Party Wall, Etc. Act 1996 is not a piece of planning legislation; it provides a mechanism whereby the owners of adjacent property can regulate works being carried out on the boundary. It is not for the Council to enforce; implementation has to be between the person carrying out the work and the person owning the property on the other side of the boundary.
