Installation of Satellite Television Dishes - Householders' guide

Summary

Before you buy or rent an antenna or satellite dish, check whether you need planning permission, listed building consent, or permission from the landlord or owner.

You are responsible for placing  antennas or satellite dishes in the appropriate position.

A number of factors affect whether planning permission may be needed. The Planning Portal Common Projects, Satellite, TV and Radio Antenna page is the best place to start, it has a wealth of information and advice on antenna. There is also an interactive mini guide on siting your antenna which helps you decide where you can put your antenna without having to apply for planning permission.
