Babergh bus passes - how, and where, to apply.

Summary

Information about and forms for free travel on local buses anywhere in England for people who are aged over 60 or who are blind or disabled.

Bus passes - which from 1st April entitle the holders to free travel on local buses anywhere in England* - are currently being issued to all existing bus pass holders. (*Some restrictions on use may apply when travelling outside Suffolk. Please check before you travel)

Babergh residents who have only recently become eligible for a bus pass or have not until now taken advantage of the scheme can apply for one either by post or in person at our offices in Corks Lane Hadleigh. 

Residents in the Sudbury area can also make applications in person at the Sudbury Advice Centre, Market Hill, Sudbury. 

Photographs for bus passes can be taken free of charge at Babergh Hadleigh offices or Sudbury Advice Centre.

Application forms are available online. Use these links to download a form.

Alternatively they can be obtained by post from our Hadleigh office or by phoning our General Enquiries Team on 01473 826622. Residents intending to make their application in person can obtain and complete a form at the time of their visit.

Please note, bus passes take approximately 2 weeks to be processed and printed.  They are posted as soon as prepared.

All applications must be accompanied by a standard passport size colour photograph, documentary evidence confirming that the applicant is aged 60 or over, or if the application is on medical grounds documentary evidence of their condition. e.g any qualifying benefits in payment or a letter from a GP or other healthcare professional confirming they meet the criteria outlined in the application form.

Original documents must be supplied. Babergh does not accept photocopies in order to guard against the possibility of fraud or abuse of the free travel scheme.
